MJ’s Last Dance

April 21st, 2008 – 3:52 am | Posted by: .45

I’m generally not into taking photos, but I’ve been snapping some off lately to document my last days in San Francisco. Today there was a barbeque at my house to celebrate 420. This is really just as good an excuse as any; we have A LOT of barbeques. Well, today was my last one and I got a couple pics in. This one reminded me of an album cover, so I made it one.

420 BBQ

In San Francisco, it’s not unusual for me to be the only white person in pictures. The city’s mostly Asian, with some Mexican, and about 5% white. That 5% all live together in a little section I call Yuppy Land. This is one of the most annoying places to be, so I don’t live there. Most of my friends here are Filipino and as time has passed, I’ve gotten used to being the token white guy. Whenever there’s a picture like this, it’s always fun for them to play, “Where’s Snowman?” They don’t call me Snowman for the reasons you might expect; it’s really just because I’m white and smoke a pipe. The sun doesn’t shine here either, which just makes it worse (and easier for people to find me in photographs, pipe or no).

I may post a few more before I hit the road.

Good luck on your move! I’m used to being the token Black, but it’s cool because whenever a rap song comes on my friends always ask me who its by. I like how they defer to my obvious hip/hop knowledge. ;-)

    I wouldn’t like that much.

I get asked if I have any AC/DC or Rob Zombie I can lend to their white friend at work. Yes, I do. (really)

Today the weather is nice, hooray! Just thought you would like to know that.

Also looking at the album cover made me think of Cypress Hill, Insane in the membrane :)

Hey, nice picture and I totally see the resemblance to the Dirty Deeds cover. I mean put a schoolboy uniform on that guy to your left and he is a dead ringer for Angus Young!!

Your friends look very cool, much like the ones I left behind out in Cali. *sniffles* I miss them.

Hehe, didn’t you mean to say the TOKIN’ white guy?

    ;)

    Damn smart people!

That could have been more fitting, but I think that album cover had a castle on it. Maybe the Japanese cover has 5 dudes at a barbeque.

didn’t you mean to say the TOKIN’ white guy?

    I don’t think there’s ever a shortage of those.
